Why do we have to go to a priest for forgivness of sin, if Peter said we all are preists?

We can all spread the word, not necessarily as a priest, but as a teacher. We can go out and teach the word. We don't have to confess our sins to a priest. We can confess our sins to God and he will forgive. We don't have to do penance like Catholics teach. We just have to repent and not do those things again.
