How big is the Nitrous Mafia?

I went to a festival at the end of July called Gathering of the Vibes. Some sbag gang who referred to themselves as the "Nitrous Mafia" was there selling balloons of the gas. They beat up a ton of people and made the place into the sketchiest festival ever. Does anyone else have to deal with these bozo's at other festies?
