Why does my hamster have a large wet spot on his side?

He is a short haired hammie and i dont know how old he is ive been taking care of him correctly and he is not very stressed the wet spot is where the gland in front of the leg is but tge wet spot is really big compared to regular gland spot size he is my first hammy and i got him last week he has been getting this wet spot off and on all day (sorry for no periods im on an ipod so i forgot) he cant be sleeping in his urine because i cleaned his cage twenty minutes ago im not sure if hes been hanging out under the water bottle but im just concerned that he isn't getting sick
